Leek is a small town on the southern border of the peak district, about 1hr drive from Sheffield. Unlike stannage edge it has 'true' mountains, well pointier anyway. It offers some amazing traverses, even one that involves decending as part of the route. There is also some nice overhung cliffs in the spirit of Moonarie's flying buttress. This all exists in the most picturesque setting and a lot of decent exposure too boot. Needless to say we are back on grit, and there is a good pub down the road.
